*Our Race for Education is next week and we need your help on race day, October 12th!  (Rain date is October 19th.)  We need several volunteers to make this day a success!  Please consider coming to help if you can.  The race times for each grade are listed on the Sign-up Genius.  Feel free to stay as long as you’d like.  No clearances are required for this activity!  Please see Race for Education Volunteers to sign-up to help.

* Hopefully, everyone was busy clipping and collecting Box Tops over the summer! Our first official collection will be Friday, October 19th.  Information about the Box Top program, along with a list of participating products (on back of info sheet) was passed out to your student(s) last week.  If you have any questions, you may refer to for Box Top links and/or contact Allison McCarthy, box top coordinator, at

*Save the Date for the Annual Nitrauer Fall Fest!  Join friend for an evening of fun on Friday, October 26th from 5-7 pm.  Plan on eating dinner at Nitrauer before heading out for the parade through the surrounding neighborhood as Scoops food truck will be at Fall Fest.  Kids are welcome to wear an appropriate costume (no weapon accessories).  Do you have a great pumpkin design?  Bring your pumpkin for the “Great Pumpkin” display.  Sign up here to donate/volunteer: Fall Fest Volunteer/Donation Sign Up. For more information, see Nitrauer Fall Fest 2018.

*The District is supporting a fundraiser, Backpacks for Hope, to support students & families affected by Hurricane Florence.  Please see Backpacks for Hope – North Carolina 2018 for information of how you can help!

*Mix it Up Lunch will be resuming this year!  We are looking for any parents that are musically inclined and would like to share their talent during our first lunch on November 16th from around 11-1.  Please contact Maggie Foley at if you would like to share your talent.  Thank you!

*Thank you to those who have volunteered to fill some of the open PTO positions.  At this time, there is one more opening.
