*Nitrauer will be presenting “Peter Pan the Musical” on April 3-4, 2020.  Please join us for an informational parent meeting this Tuesday, October 29th at 7:00pm to learn more about our school musical and to meet this year’s director, Jaime Hilton.  If you are unable to attend this informational meeting, please email jaimehilton@gmail.com for more information.

*Join us Saturday, November 23rd in the Nitrauer Cafeteria for Nitrauer’s Annual Holiday Pottery Painting to create hand painted items for the holiday season!  See (Pottery Painting Order Form) for information and to place your order.  All orders must be pre-ordered and pre-paid by this Wednesday, October 30th.  Please send a check (made out to Nitrauer PTO) to school with your student for the total amount ordered with your email address in the memo line.  If sending cash, please include your email address on the front of the envelope.  We hope to see everyone there!

*Thanksgiving is a time for gathering family and friends to celebrate the people and things in our lives for which we feel grateful.  Making a special feast is one way families show gratitude for each other.  By supporting Nitrauer’s Thanks-GIVING Project, we can make that feast a little easier to provide for our families who find themselves in need.  To kick off this voluntary service project, we will be collecting non-perishable items at Fall Fest tonight from 5:00-7:00.  Items can be placed on the collection table outside the school.  If you are not planning to attend the Fall Fest, you can still donate items from October 28-November 14thCollection boxes will be in every classroom as well as the office.  Please contact Missy Weaver, School Counselor at 717-735-1529 or weavermi@mtwp.net. General questions can be directed to Adrienne Burge adeitch77@yahoo.com.

*Newly designed Nitrauer Spirit Wear is now available!  Check out Nitrauer Spirit Wear Online Orders to see the many items available as well as to place an order.  See Nitrauer Knights Spirit Wear for a paper copy of the order form.  Deadline to order is Tuesday, November 5th.  Delivery will occur before the holidays.  Contact Alex Massie at alexmassie8@gmail.com with any questions.

*Mix It Up Lunch will be resuming this school year!  The first Mix It Up Lunch will be on Friday, November 15th.  Students consistently identify the cafeteria as a place in their school where divisions are clearly – and sometimes harshly – drawn.  So, every other month we ask students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch.  Studies have shown that interactions across group lines can help reduce prejudice and when students interact with those who are different from them, biases and misconceptions can fall away.
*During Mix It Up Lunch we will ask parent volunteers to help hand out popsicle sticks to mix students up with their seating and help students interact while they eat their lunch.  You must have clearances to help with this event.  If you would like to volunteer please sign up at: Mix It Up Lunch Volunteer Sign Up.  If you have any questions please contact Maggie Foley: maggie_foley@hotmail.com.

*Come cheer on Ms. Ducey, Mr. Illig, & Ms. Shoemaker as they join other MTSD staff & students to take on the Harlem Wizard’s basketball team Thursday evening, November 14th at 7pm (doors open at 6pm) to raise money for MTHS Mini-THON and the Four Diamonds Fund.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or any MT office.  For more information, contact sneerich@mtwp.net.

*Save the date for Movie Night at Penn Cinema!  The Nitrauer PTO invites you & your family to join us for Frozen 2 either December 12th or December 17th.  Movie tickets will be $5 a person!  More details to follow soon!

*Please make sure to have your child’s name somewhere on their jackets and sweaters as many are left on the playgrounds after being outside, and on the OUTSIDE of their lunch boxes, so we can make sure to get your items back where they belong!
