*Last week’s Book Nook was very successful! The next Book Nook is Wednesday, December 12th. We are in need of elementary (K-4) picture and chapter books to allow for ongoing successful Book Nooks. Please consider donating any books that your children have outgrown. Books can be dropped off in the office. Thank you to Laura McCamant & Sheryl DePanfilis for organizing this project!

*Join us for our Annual Nitrauer Fall Fest on Friday, October 26th from 5-7 pm! Plan on eating dinner at Nitrauer before heading out for the parade through the surrounding neighborhood as Scoops food truck will be at Fall Fest. Kids are welcome to wear an appropriate costume (no weapon accessories). Do you have a great pumpkin design? Bring your pumpkin for the “Great Pumpkin” display. *Come cheer on Ms. Ducey & Ms. Shoemaker as they join other MTSD staff & students to take on the Harlem Wizard’s basketball team Thursday evening, November 8th to raise money for MTHS Mini-THON and the Four Diamonds Fund. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
*Thanksgiving is a time for gathering family and friends to celebrate the people and things in our lives for which we feel grateful. Making a special feast is one way families show gratitude for each other. By supporting Nitrauer’s Thanks-GIVING Project, we can make that feast a little easier to provide for our families who find themselves in need. To kick off this voluntary service project, we will be collecting non-perishable food items at the FALL FEST on October 26th from 5:00-7:00. Items can be placed in the collection box outside the school. If you are unable to donate at the event, don’t worry, there is still a lot of time to help. *Mix it Up Lunch will be resuming this year! We are looking for any parents that are musically inclined and would like to share their talent during our first lunch on November 16th from around 11-1. Please contact Maggie Foley at email@example.com if you would like to share your talent. Thank you!
*As the weather is getting cooler, please be involved in your children’s school clothing choices as much as possible, and have them bring jackets for recess.
