*Thank you to Kim Romano for a successful Fall Fest last week! The PTO and families of Nitrauer would like to thank Kim for all of her years helping to create fun and memorable Fall Fest events for all the families at Nitrauer!
*Thank you to everyone that was able to attend the meeting “Peter Pan — the Musical” which Nitrauer will be presenting on April 3-4, 2020. See Peter Pan Roles for more information regarding speaking and nonspeaking roles. A note MUST be sent to school when your child is staying after for tryouts, as well as for all rehearsals. If you are interested in helping with the stage crew, please email Jaime, the director at firstname.lastname@example.org. You do not need to audition for the stage crew.
*Newly designed Nitrauer Spirit Wear is now available! Check out Nitrauer Spirit Wear Online Orders to see the many items available as well as to place an order. See Nitrauer Knights Spirit Wear for a paper copy of the order form. Deadline to order is Tuesday, November 5th. Delivery will occur before the holidays. Contact Alex Massie at email@example.com with any questions.
*We have several opportunities to make this November a month of giving:
- Making a special feast is one way families show gratitude for each other. By supporting Nitrauer’s Thanks-GIVING Project, we can make that feast a little easier to provide for our families who find themselves in need. We will be collecting non-perishable food items in the school through Nov. 14th. Please direct questions to Missy Weaver firstname.lastname@example.org or Adrienne Burge email@example.com.
- Next Friday, November 22nd, go the EXTRA mile for the Manheim Township Educational Foundation. On that day, MTEF is participating in the Extraordinary Give, Lancaster Country’s Largest Day of Giving. For 24 hours only, visit ExtraGiveMTEF to make a donation. Any donation made online that day will be partially matched by the Lancaster County Community Foundation.
*Mix It Up Lunch will be resuming this school year! The first Mix It Up Lunch will be on Friday, November 15th. Students consistently identify the cafeteria as a place in their school where divisions are clearly – and sometimes harshly – drawn. So, every other month we ask students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. Studies have shown that interactions across group lines can help reduce prejudice and when students interact with those who are different from them, biases and misconceptions can fall away.
*During Mix It Up Lunch we will ask parent volunteers to help hand out popsicle sticks to mix students up with their seating and help students interact while they eat their lunch. You must have clearances to help with this event. Thank you for filling our volunteer needs! If you have any questions please contact Maggie Foley: firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Come cheer on Ms. Ducey, Mr. Illig, & Ms. Shoemaker as they join other MTSD staff & students to take on the Harlem Wizard’s basketball team Thursday evening, November 14th at 7pm (doors open at 6pm) to raise money for MTHS Mini-THON and the Four Diamonds Fund. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or any MT office. For more information, contact email@example.com.
*Save the date for Movie Night at Penn Cinema! The Nitrauer PTO invites you & your family to join us for Frozen 2 either December 12th or December 17th. Movie tickets will be $5 a person! More details to follow soon!
*Save the date for this year’s Follett Book Fair which is coming your way after Thanksgiving (Tuesday, December 3rd — Thursday, December 5th)! A sign up genius will be coming your way as there will be lots of ways for families and friends to help.
*Please make sure to have your child’s name somewhere on their jackets and sweaters as many are left on the playgrounds after being outside, and on the OUTSIDE of their lunch boxes, so we can make sure to get your items back where they belong!
