*Thank you to everyone who clipped, saved, and sent in box tops this past collection! Our school raised almost $400 this past Box Top Collection. Box Top money goes directly to improve our school and students’ education. In the past Box Top money has been used to buy playground equipment like jump ropes, balls, hoops, etc. This year Dr. Hancock may opt to purchase more materials for the STEAM lab (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Please ask grandparents and other family members to save their box tops to send in to our school. If each student sends in 20 box tops, our school could raise $1,000!
*Thank you to Kim Romano for coordinating last week’s Fall Fest! Thank you, as well, to the many volunteers who made this event happen!
*Nitrauer Knights Spirit Wear products are now available! Paper orders (Nitrauer Knights Spirit Wear) will be accepted until Wednesday, November 14th and online orders (Online Spirit Wear Orders) until Saturday, November 17th. We plan to deliver Spirit Wear November 30th, unless you indicate it is a gift. Gift items will be available for pick up at the Pottery Painting on December 1st. *Join us Saturday, December 1st in the Nitrauer Cafeteria for Nitrauer’s Annual Holiday Pottery Painting to create hand painted items for the holiday season! More information and an order form (Pottery Painting Order Form) will be sent home with students soon. All orders must be pre-ordered and pre-paid by Wednesday, November 7th. We hope to see everyone there!
*Come cheer on Ms. Ducey & Ms. Shoemaker as they join other MTSD staff & students to take on the Harlem Wizard’s basketball team next Thursday evening, November 8th to raise money for MTHS Mini-THON and the Four Diamonds Fund. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
*We have several opportunities to make this November a month of giving:
- Making a special feast is one way families show gratitude for each other. By supporting Nitrauer’s Thanks-GIVING Project, we can make that feast a little easier to provide for our families who find themselves in need. We will be collecting non-perishable food items in the school through Nov. 14th. Please direct questions to Missy Weaver email@example.com or Adrienne Burge firstname.lastname@example.org.
- On Friday, November 16th, go the EXTRA mile for the Manheim Township Educational Foundation. On that day, MTEP is participating in the Extraordinary Give, Lancaster Country’s Largest Day of Giving. For 24 hours only, visit ExtraGiveMTEF to make a donation. Any donation made online that day will be partially matched by the Lancaster County Community Foundation.
*The First Mix It Up Lunch of the year will be held on Friday, November 16th. Students consistently identify the cafeteria as a place in their school where divisions are clearly -and sometimes harshly – drawn. So, every other month we ask students to move out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. Studies have shown that interactions across group lines can help reduce prejudice. When students interact with those who are different from them, biases and misconceptions can fall away. During Mix It Up Lunch we will ask parent volunteers to help hand out popsicle sticks to mix students up with their seating and help students interact while they eat their lunch. If you would like to volunteer for this event please sign up at: Mix It Up Lunch Volunteer Sign Up. If you have any questions please contact Maggie Foley: email@example.com
*Save the dates for the Scholastic Book Fair which is coming your way after Thanksgiving (Tuesday, November 27th – Friday, November 30th)! A sign up genius will be coming your way as there will be lots of ways for families and friends to help.
*Do you have any pictures of Nitrauer events? If so, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org for possible entry in this year’s yearbook. If you have any questions, contact Diana at email@example.com.
