*On Tuesday, May 14th, from 11:15-11:45 (*note time change), incoming kindergarten students and a parent are invited to Nitrauer for an introduction to Kindergarten Story Time. Dr. Hancock will read a book to the students and their parents at 12:30 in the Nitrauer library. The kindergarten teachers will stop by and introduce themselves to the group, too! If you have a child starting kindergarten in August, please consider joining us for Kindergarten Story Time!
*The Landis Run Instrumental Music Program is having an informational meeting Thursday, May 16th at 7pm in the Landis Run Intermediate School Gym. This meeting is for all parents & current 4th grade students to learn about the program. If your student will be participating in the instrumental music program next year, please make your best effort to attend this brief meeting.
*FUN FEST 2019 will be held Friday, May 17th from 5-8pm! This is an annual event at Nitrauer where friends and family can come together as a community. All proceeds benefit the Nitrauer PTO sponsored projects and events. See Fun Fest Flyer 2019 for more details as well as to order wristbands and raffle tickets in advance. This Wednesday is the deadline to pre-order wristbands & raffle tickets! Volunteers are also needed to make Fun Fest a success. Sign-up at Fun Fest Volunteers. Additionally, each class has been assigned a theme for the Basket Raffle. Basket donations are due by May 14th. See Fun Fest – Raffle Basket for details! *The last Mix It Up Lunch for this school year is coming up on Friday, May 17th. During Mix It Up Lunch we will ask parent volunteers to help hand out popsicle sticks to mix students up with their seating and help students interact while they eat their lunch. *Come out and support the Nitrauer PTO at Rita’s on Granite Run Drive Thursday, May 30th from 6-9pm. Nitrauer will receive 15% of all sales from that night!
*The PTO has the following openings for the 2019/2020 school year:
**Back to School Ice Cream Social – coordinate date and time with Friendly’s. Ice cream social is the first week of school.
**Fun Fest – coordinate spring activity involving food trucks, games, prizes, and other activities.
**Fall Fest Understudy – coordinate fall activity involving food trucks and other activities. Would work under current coordinator.
**Staff Appreciation Lunch Understudy – coordinate spring appreciation lunch for the staff. Would work under current coordinator.
**Superintendent Lay Advisory Council (SLAC) Representative – attend bi-monthly, evening meetings with the superintendent and other school representatives. Report back to Nitrauer’s PTO on the subjects presented.

*4th Grade Parents/Guardians – If you did not attend the parent orientation meeting at Landis Run Intermediate School last week, there will be another one Wednesday, August 14th at 7pm. You only need to attend one meeting. This meeting is only for parents/guardians.
*Please keep bringing us your wonderful used books for the Book Nook to give us a good start for the first book nook next fall. The collection gets more exciting every time thanks to your generous donations of k-4 gently used books.
*If you are missing any jackets, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, etc. please have your student check the lost & found. There are many items waiting to be returned to their home.
